The JPO program (Junior Professional Officer) enables you to enter the world of International Organizations.

The German government is currently advertising 27 JPO positions in more than 17 different International Organizations, e.g. at the UN Secretariat in New York, the UN-Habitat in Nairobi, the IFAD in Rome, the UNODC and UNIDO in Vienna, and the World Bank in Washington.

These are regular employment contracts at the United Nations with a duration of two to three years.

Applicants should be university graduates (Master’s or Diploma) with German citizenship, two to four years of professional experience, a very good command of English and specialization in, for example, the following degree programs:

  • Social and political sciences
  • Law
  • Economics and finance
  • Natural sciences and engineering
